Central Park West has always been an exclusive real estate location. It has the beauty lining of iconic Central Park, the close proximity to the Natural History Museum and stunning architecture of buildings like The Dakota and The San Remo. Even in today’s real estate market this classic address remains strong.
Liam Neeson, a recent seller of his Central Park West digs, sold his condo for 1.352 million, according an article in the New York Observer. The two-bedroom co-op sold for a little less than the asking price, but to sell …

After last week’s awesome visit to Columbus Circle and the Time Warner Center, I decided to check out buildings nearby today.  I was drawn to The Adagio, located at 243 West 60th Street, between Amsterdam and West End Avenue.  The wind made it tough to walk around, but seeing the Adagio made the struggle worth it.

From the outside, the building was absolutely gorgeous.  Smooth lines, very modern — it definitely gave me the sense that I was in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.
Developed by West End Development, the 9 story building …

After a rough start (noon spring-time showers reminding my coworkers and me of hurricane season), today ended up being absolutely beautiful.  A slight chill in the air to remind you it’s not quite yet summer, but the pounding hot sun to assure you that summer is just around the corner.  I decided today to check out a little bit higher on the Upper West Side, which led me straight to 265 West 122nd Street.
265 West 122nd Street, in the South Harlem neighborhood, is home to a condo building developed by …

In honor of Earth Day, we’re bringing you five condominiums here in NYC that are LEED certified. But before we do, one last time for the cheap seats, a bit of education on what exactly LEED certification means:

LEED Certification is The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, which was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council(USGBC)
There are four different levels of LEED certification (certified, silver, gold, and platinum).
Buildings that aim for LEED certification build their properties based on the tenants of the LEED rating system …

This is the time of year that makes me happy to be a New Yorker.  The combination of sunshine and cool breeze equals perfection, and there’s nothing better than venturing outside to soak it in.  Today I headed to the Time Warner Center located in Columbus Circle for a fantastic setting for people-watching.
A huge, mixed-use, twin towered monstrosity constructed of glass, the Time Warner Center was completed in 2004, and consists of retail space, offices that include the headquarters of Time Warner, CNN TV studios, and 225 condominium apartments. Designed …

The sunshine’s out in full force today, and this morning, an email from CB2 hit our inbox, inviting us to check out their wide selection of outdoor furniture. Don’t mind if we do, CB2! Sadly for us, our current home doesn’t include any sort of terrace (though it does include a good deal of common outdoor space). We’re hoping that next time we hit the pavement for our house hunt, we’ll find a place with an outdoor space that belongs to us, and us only, because we’ve placed the following …

On this incredible spring day, I couldn’t resist grabbing my camera and heading outdoors.  Apparently, I wasn’t the only New Yorker who felt this way.  The masses had hit the streets, soaking up the brilliant spring sunshine.

Located on Central Park West in Lincoln Square, The Majestic is a magnificent art-deco building that was built in 1929.
Outside the Majestic, Central Park West was swarming with people.  Cindy, age 6, and Louise, age 5, (pictured above), two tourists visiting from Cedar Falls, Iowa, were excited to visit the infamous “Strawberry Fields” and the …

Even in a recession, New York City always manages to stand up straight, both literally and figuratively. While other cities have pretty much halted their new construction, New York is chugging along. New properties hit the market all the time – and we’ve compiled the places that we predict will be the best buildings of 2010.

Today’s gorgeous weather has us contemplating picking up and moving somewhere sunny and warm – perhaps the South of France? Let’s get real. We could never leave our beloved New York. Of course, there are no beaches here that compare with those of Nice, or Barcelona, but we’ve got skyscrapers and views of all things sparkly come nighttime.
Below, we’ve compiled some of our favorite buildings, and more importantly, ones that contain a room with a view. Because let’s face it, once winter fades and the slush melts and the buds …

We don’t know about you, but when we grow up, we dream of owning a townhouse in New York’s West Village. In the interim, however, we’ve fallen in love with the Upper West Side. The land of bagels and lox also offers many an upscale restaurant, as well as spectacular public transportation, and of course, Central Park. There’s something about the Upper West Side that feels almost European. It’s cleaner and quieter than downtown, and isn’t nearly as stuffy as the Upper East Side.
One of our favorite properties on the …

Recently, sources reported that Matt Damon and his wife Luciana were house hunting up and down the prestigious Fifth Avenue, but new reports place them a bit further west – Central Park West, to be exact. Could this be because they “don’t have a prayer” at getting into the co-ops on Fifth Avenue, which tend to reject celebrities and all the hullaballo that surrounds them. Informants say Damon, who is a Boston boy through and through but owns a loft on Lafayette Street, has been quietly checking out sprawling full …

We’re not sure about you, but these past few bone chilling months have really ignited in us the dream for a full scale, working fireplace. You know, the kind we had growing up in our small town – the kind where you’d gather wood from the backyard, stuff the fireplace with crumpled newspapers and logs, light a match, and voila – and God said, “Let there be light!” Sadly for most New Yorkers, working fireplaces are hard to come by. There’s always the chance of a quaint, non-working fireplace in …
