For all of you who saw the R.J. Cutler film “The September Issue: Anna Wintour & The Making of Vogue” this is news that you want to hear. Condé Nast is officially moving their headquarters to what will soon be the tallest building in New York, 1 World Trade Center.
This is rather exciting for the Financial District and the neighborhoods surrounding, like Tribeca and Battery Park City.
The New York Times reports how the introduction of Condé Nast to Times Square brought a flock of other businesses and tourists to the neighborhood and resulted in the thriving city center it is now. While other major corporations turned down the opportunities to fill the 2.6 Million square-foot glass beacon, Condé Nast saw it as a strategic move similar to their 1996 relocation to Times Square.
The new headquarters will fill 1 million square-feet, will other follow to fill the remaining square-footage? No worries we have till 2014 until the skyscraper officially changes the New York skyline forever.
Are you interested in being closer to the magazines that bring style and class to Americans everyday? Why not check out the luxury buildings in the area. Maybe you will spot Anna Wintour on her way to an important lunch.
