Mischa Barton's Beverly Hill Mansion

Lots of celebrity real estate news these days! The latest celeb to debunk from their throne? Miss Mischa Barton, former star of The O.C. Barton, who recently played a knocked up prostitute on Law and Order: SVU, hasn’t had much of a career lately – which is perhaps why she’s looking to make some moolah on her Beverly Hills Mediterranean mansion. Mischa’s career simply hasn’t been the same since she left The O.C. during the show’s third season, and it’s probable that she can’t afford such a huge house anymore (the home is a 7,600-square-foot, six-bedroom, 10-bath stunner). Barton has listed the home for $8.4 million, and seeing as she bought it for $6.4 million, girlfriend will make a pretty penny if her price is met.

In a past interview about her home, Mischa said, “When I arrived in LA, I looked at 10 houses. This was the last one on the list. It was a little beyond my price expectations, but I immediately fell in love with it. It’s almost as if I would be living in the country. There’s no traffic, no loud cars, simply heavenly quiet.”

The house boasts two detached guest suites, a lush courtyard, a large terrace, a pool, and beautiful Mediterranean architectural details. Barton’s décor choices, are on the other hand, are less crave worthy. She’s washed it with a peach and neutral palette, and outfitted it with gaudy, gold tables and ostentatious, swagged valances. I expected so much more from a fashionista like Mischa! Perhaps this is a situation where the girl should have fired her decorator? What gives, Marissa Cooper?
