Must Have That Attention To Detail

When a broker accepts to sell an apartment, they take on the challenge of getting the best price in our current economy. Sometimes a broker has to do everything in their power to add that extra appeal to the place. The New York Times recently wrote an article about how different brokers went that extra mile for their clients by making a variation of minute and drastic changes to the apartments. It seems to be all about paying attention to detail.

Here are some fine points and suggestions the article pointed out.

1)   Always try to make the rooms feel bigger, perhaps by getting smaller furniture with a minimalist approach. You may also like to place a fresh coat of bright paint to the walls.

2)   Get rid of every possibility of clutter in your space. Donate those extra books to thrift, put away unnecessary toys, and file your papers away. De-Clutter your life.

3)   Fresh garnishes help. Replace the towels in the bathroom, replace dirty rugs, and add some bright pillows to a dull couch. Garnish the apartment.

4)   Regrouting tile, a slightly larger cost, but makes a whole world of difference to a buyer when the approach you bathroom.

5)   New lighting fixtures, bathroom or kitchen appliances. This can be expensive but can increase the value drastically.

6)   Replace tired cabinets. You would be surprised what Ikea has in the cabinet department.

I hope you enjoyed the tips for increasing the value of you or your client’s home.  Does anyone have any additions to this list? I would love to hear them.
