Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw is known for her fashion fetish – the girl can’t get enough of designer duds. However, she’s a New Yorker with a glorified studio on the Upper East Side, and her closet simply doesn’t fit all of her Dior. Carrie also can’t cook to save her life, and so, as she often tells her friends, “I use my oven for storage.” Turns out, Bradshaw isn’t alone. According the New York Post, many a New Yorker, pressed for more closet space, has turned to their kitchen for storage. With the plethora of take out options swarming our fine city, there’s really no need to cook, and few kitchens in New York are outfitted for the making of a full meal. Sure, you can plug in your coffee put, but turn on the oven? As if!

In this story from yesterday’s Post, we’re introduced to multiple “kitchenistas” who have gotten creative when it comes to storage. Their refridgerators double as shoe racks; their cabinets store seasonal sweaters and tee shirts. Jeans and high heels can be found in the oven (provided that the super turns off the gas), and wine glasses sit on shelves next to $600 Louboutin heels.

We’re dying to know – are you a kitchenista? Do you know anyone who stores sweaters in their oven, taking advantage of the sliding racks inside?
