After a rough start (noon spring-time showers reminding my coworkers and me of hurricane season), today ended up being absolutely beautiful. A slight chill in the air to remind you it’s not quite yet summer, but the pounding hot sun to assure you that summer is just around the corner. I decided today to check out a little bit higher on the Upper West Side, which led me straight to 265 West 122nd Street.
265 West 122nd Street, in the South Harlem neighborhood, is home to a condo building developed by El Nalixa. The building has 4 apartments spanning 6 floors and features luxury finishes including oak flooring, washer/dryer, glass shower, and private outdoor area. The El Nalixa building also has an elevator, storage area, video intercom, and security system.
As for the neighborhood, my bright, colorful spring mood was not disappointed. Everywhere I looked, people were decked in color. The streets were bustling with pinks, greens, blues, and yellows. It was such a great sight to see. I came across this woman, with her hot pink bag and yellow scarf wrapped around her head, and it was such a reassurance — summer is coming, people! It’s almost here!
Another great sight was a young boy who was playing basketball across the street of 265 West 122nd Street. No court? No problem. Welcome to the concrete jungle. That is what walls were made for, right?
The last great thing I noticed in my time exploring 265 West 122nd Street was a vacant lot about 3 buildings down from 265. The first time I walked by, I noticed the renovation materials. The second time I walked by, I noticed the garden that had been recently planted. The sign read “Welcome to Our Little Green Acre.” There was everything planted, from mustard to azaleas. Just one last reminder that spring has sprung and summer is arriving swiftly!
