Out and About in NYC… The Adagio

After last week’s awesome visit to Columbus Circle and the Time Warner Center, I decided to check out buildings nearby today.  I was drawn to The Adagio, located at 243 West 60th Street, between Amsterdam and West End Avenue.  The wind made it tough to walk around, but seeing the Adagio made the struggle worth it.

From the outside, the building was absolutely gorgeous.  Smooth lines, very modern — it definitely gave me the sense that I was in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Developed by West End Development, the 9 story building is within walking distance to restaurants, stores, Central Park, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. The West End Development apartments are 1 to 3 bedrooms with 11’4” high ceilings, Brazilian hardwood flooring, and marble bathrooms with radiant heat flooring. The Adagio has a doorman, resident’s lounge, business center, health club, 40’0” foot indoor pool, English garden, outdoor tennis court, and garage for resident convenience.

Now, prior to actually visiting this building, I was slightly wary — that area, so close to West End Avenue, isn’t particularly known for having a great deal of amenities nearby.  But to my surprise, I discovered the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center across the street from the Adagio.  Also in the area was a small garden where two girls were enjoying a late lunch.  All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by this gem of a street.
